New Campaign - Burt's Bees

One of the campaigns I am doing for BzzAgent is to test Burt's Bees Intense Hydration skin care products.  I received full size samples of the night cream, cream face wash and mask.  These products are all natural and smell wonderful.
Here in the Midwest the weather has turned quite chilly (40s-50s) and the wind is constant.  My skin is usually dry.  I don't usually have much of a face washing routine but I always moisturize.  I have already tried the Face Wash and it is so great.  My skin does not feel dry after washing.  It is gentle and after using for almost one week I do not have any breakouts or sensitivity to it.
I will post again after using the mask and night cream.  So far I like it.

Bzzing right along

So, I'm a BzzAgent.  That means I get free things to try at home in exchange for my opinion about the product or service.  Here's some information about one of the campaigns I'm participating in right now.

The first one is All Natural Smartfood Snack.  A great healthier snack that tastes great.  I got to try the Sour Cream and Onion popped corn, the Garlic Tomato Basil Hummus popped chips and the Cinnamon Brown Sugar Multigrain Chips.  The garlic was my favorite but all the flavors were tasty and the serving sizes are big enough to make me and my belly happy.  The thing I really like about this program is the opportunity to give my opinion about a product and share it with others.  With each campaign come some perks like coupons to give to friends or smaller versions of the products to pass out and share.  After each activity completed on the BzzAgent website MyPoints are awarded for successful activities.  You don't have to give a positive review, you just have to be honest.

The Dark Monk

I have been reading The Dark Monk.  It takes you through old work Bavaria on a mystery mission to find the Templar's treasure.  Although the story centers around the church it is not a religious book.  It is full of drama, fighting, attempted murder and the Hangman and his courageous daughter.  I have really enjoyed this story.  Too bad I didn't read The Hangman's Daughter first (a tale that is equally as good).  I would recommend this book to everyone.

Cutting out my pattern for the 1912 Project

I have decided to use muslin for my child apron. I have even given some thought to some hand embroidery, at least on the pocket. I picked up some new embroidery floss last week and I am eager to use it.

The pattern does not have written instructions which is going to be a challenge for me since I love instructions. I will probably try to create my own set of instructions which is encouraged by the program.

The 1912 Project does not have boundaries as far as fabrics or embellishments. I look forward to being creative. Let me get started and I'll post pictures.

Project 1912 - My First Pattern

I received instructions today for my first pattern for VPLL 1912 Project.  I am so excited.  I feel like I picked the one thing that wouldn't be so difficult that I would get discouraged.  It is a child's apron, sounds simple enough, right?  I sure hope so.  If you click on the link you can see what I will be working on.  I think I am going to make it out of muslin.  Although I have two "models" of my own that would love to wear it.  Maybe I should make two.
